If your podcast intro sounds exactly the same every week, it might be worth
Speaker:taking another look at it.
Speaker:Now, having a consistent intro isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Speaker:Your theme music, a quick introduction, and a reminder of what your show is
Speaker:about can help build familiarity.
Speaker:But if you're following that with a long list of announcements,
Speaker:asking people to rate and review, promoting your other projects,
Speaker:and explaining what's coming up later in the episode, your listener might be
Speaker:several minutes in before they get to the reason they press play.
Speaker:So here's something to try - get to the most interesting part of your episode
Speaker:sooner. You could open with a question, a surprising detail, or a quick explanation
Speaker:of what you're going to explore.
Speaker:You can still include your announcements and calls to action - just think about
Speaker:whether they need to happen right at the beginning. Remember,
Speaker:your regular listeners might know your intro by heart, but someone discovering
Speaker:your podcast for the first time doesn't know what's coming,
Speaker:so give them a reason to stick around before asking them to do anything else.
Speaker:Because the best way to start an episode isn't necessarily with everything you
Speaker:want to tell your listener - it's
Speaker:with a reason for them to keep listening.
Speaker:Until the next time, happy podcasting.
