Are Your Episode Titles Encouraging Listeners?
Most podcast episode titles don’t really give people a reason to click.
They kind of describe what the episode is about… but not why you should listen.
And that’s the bit that matters. So let's make sure your episode titles are encouraging clicks and listens.

Most podcast episode titles don't really give people a reason to click.
Speaker:They kind of describe what the episode is about, but not why you should listen.
Speaker:And that's the bit that matters, because your title is usually the first thing
Speaker:someone sees, and that's what gets to play.
Speaker:So here's something I'd recommend trying. Take your last few episode titles
Speaker:and look at them like a complete outsider.
Speaker:If you didn't know your show, would
Speaker:you know what you're getting from that episode, or is it a bit vague?
Speaker:A good example, let's say you've got a movie podcast and your episode title
Speaker:was something like, we need to talk about that scene.
Speaker:Now that might make sense if you're on YouTube and you're playing to the YouTube
Speaker:algorithm or you already know the film, but if you don't, it doesn't really tell you anything.
Speaker:Compare that to something like, the scene that changed horror movies forever.
Speaker:Same idea, but now there's a reason to click. So when you're writing titles,
Speaker:try shifting your thinking slightly.
Speaker:Make it a little bit less about the topic and more about the outcome.
Speaker:What's a listener actually going to get from this?
Speaker:Because a clear title doesn't just describe the episode, it helps someone decide
Speaker:to listen. And at the end of the day, that's the main thing.
Speaker:Until the next time, happy podcasting.
